Bluesky on Windows

Save an authorized native video from a Bluesky post.

Start with one bsky.app post containing native video you are allowed to keep. Paste its link into New Download, select Analyze, and review the result in DownloaderAI for Windows.

Choose the right Bluesky content

People often call Bluesky “bsky”; bsky.app is its web application, not a second platform. A native video attached to a post differs from a link card pointing to YouTube or another host. Open that external original when applicable.

What platform support establishes

DownloaderAI currently supports Bluesky, as confirmed by the product owner. This content update did not include a platform download test. Specific link types and outputs depend on the result shown by the client; a platform name or an underlying yt-dlp support entry does not prove every client feature works. DownloaderAI is an independent Windows desktop download tool and is not affiliated with the source platform. This website does not process or download videos online.

Workflow

How to use this workflow

Step 1

Install DownloaderAI for Windows

Use the Download page for the current 64-bit Windows 10/11 installer, checksum, and installation guidance. Analysis and saving happen in the desktop app.

Step 2

Copy the bsky.app post permalink

Use the individual post, such as a bsky.app/profile/.../post/... address, rather than the author's profile, custom feed, or a screenshot of the post.

Step 3

Analyze one link in the desktop app

Follow the app's applicable prompts, paste the authorized URL into New Download, and select Analyze. Review the returned media and formats; if nothing usable appears, follow the failure guidance below.

Step 4

Choose a destination and verify the file

Select only a permitted result and a save location. After the task completes, open the chosen folder in Windows and check the file's content, playback, duration, and audio. Do not assume a fixed default folder.

Use cases

Where it fits

Your native upload

Keep an authorized local viewing copy of your published video. Retain the original upload as your master.

An external video shared on Bluesky

Follow the legitimate original hosting link and apply that service's permissions. A link card does not turn externally hosted media into a Bluesky upload.

Safety and privacy boundaries

  • Custom feed enumeration, account backups, image collections, and every third-party Bluesky client URL have not been verified.
  • DownloaderAI does not bypass login, private content, payment, DRM, CAPTCHA, age verification, or regional restrictions. Do not use Cookies, tokens, accounts, or proxies to evade access controls.

    Frequently asked questions

Are bsky and Bluesky different platforms?

No. bsky is a common short name for Bluesky, and bsky.app is the web app. Use the same Bluesky guide for an eligible native video post.

Does a YouTube link in a Bluesky post count as native video?

No. Bluesky's video announcement concerns uploaded video. An external link leads to another source whose access rules and download permissions still apply.
